Locally Preferred Alternative
The Locally Preferred Alternative (LPA) of light rail transit on the B-C-D1 alignment (Brooklyn Park - BNSF Railroad Corridor - Olson Memorial Highway/Trunk Highway 55) of the Bottineau Transitway has been adopted by the Metropolitan Council into the region's long-range transportation plan, the Transportation Policy Plan.
Consideration for adoption was based on public/stakeholder input, technical analysis results, and recommendation by the Hennepin County Regional Railroad Authority. Links to key documentation regarding the LPA process are provided below.

Land Use Planning
Station area pre‐planning work is ongoing in close collaboration with Bottineau Corridor cities through a consultant services contract with Stantec. With the selection of the locally preferred alternative (LPA), station area information is being collected at additional stations along the LPA. Draft EIS
The Bottineau Transitway project is progressing through the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (Draft EIS) phase. The Draft EIS document is currently going through federal review after which it will be finalized and released for public comment. As the Draft EIS release date and public comment period are established, dates and information on Draft EIS document accessibility will be broadcast via a broad range of media, including this website.
