ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW PROCESS TIMELINE

The environmental review process requires the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) to prepare an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS), as required by the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). The EIS process begins with a stage called Scoping, which is the process of determining the content of the Draft EIS. The Scoping process is used to define the alternatives and to identify the transportation, community, social, physical and environmental issues that will be evaluated in the Draft EIS. The following is a timeline of the environmental review process for the Bottineau Transitway.
